The difference between LED, VFD, LCD and OLED display
LED - Light Emitting Display is just LED
VFD - Vacuum Fluorescent Display shows the image is fixed
LCD -
Liquid Crystal Display, is the general LCD screen, mobile phone screens are mostly
OLED - Organic Light Emitting Display, namely organic light emitting display, OLED does not need the back light, uses the very thin organic material coating and the glass substrate, when the electric current passes through, these organic materials will shine. The OLED display screen is thinner and lighter than the LCD.
Resolution: LED has the lowest resolution, by VFD, OLED is higher, and LCD is the highest. The resolution here refers to the interval between display units on their pattern, regardless of the size of the display unit itself.
Contrast: OLED has the highest contrast ratio, by VFD, LED is slightly worse (not necessarily), LCD is the worst (not necessarily)
Brightness: OLED is the highest, LED may also be the highest, by VFD, LCD is the worst (not necessarily)
Chroma: OLED is the best, LED is the next, LCD is slightly worse (not necessarily), VFD is the worst
Response speed: OLED and VFD are better, LED and LCD are worse.
The VFD has filaments and grids, and features due to the presence of these components. These are visible. At least I can see it.
The VFD has few colors and the color area is fixed. There are many other colors, but basically all are sub-regional color development, but different things, the size of the area is different, sometimes the naked eye can not tell directly.
The OLEDs that are commonly used today do not seem to be capable of full color, at least in common household products, although technically possible.
An OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) is fundamentally different from the aforementioned conventional LCD display. It does not require a backlight, uses a very thin coating of organic material and a glass substrate, and these organic materials emit light when current passes through them. Therefore, the OLED screen can be lighter and thinner, the viewing angle is larger, and the power consumption is also reduced. The display response time (less than 10ms) and color of the OLED screen are superior to those of the TFT LCD screen, and are more flexible. The module structure of the OLED screen is simpler than the current popular
TFT LCD screen, and the production cost is only about 3 to 40% of the
TFT LCD. The future has a wide range of applications. However, at present, OLED screens are still in the R&D stage, and the technical problems such as short service life and inability to make the screen larger need to be solved.
I believe we have seen a large number of 2-color or 4-color OLED products appear in the domestic MP3 market. The display effect is very good, and it has become a development trend of LCD screens for MP3 products. At present, products using full-color OLED screens are rare. Recently, several MP4 products with a price of less than 1,000 yuan appeared in the domestic market, all of which use 1 inch 65,000-color OLED LCD screens. Korean NeoSol has introduced a product with a 2.2-inch full-color OLED screen.
Welcome to check our OLED series. Will update more soon.
